New Easyjet flights to Klagenfurt
From mid-December 2017 Easyjet will be flying to Klagenfurt, Austria. True to this airline reputation these flights will be budget-friendly, leaving you with no excuse not to fly to the picturesque province of Carinthia.
Easyjet will be the only UK airline that flies to this charming part of Austria. With flight times of approximately two hours from London Gatwick you will be able to leave early morning and have your skis on by breakfast.
As the capital of the Carinthia province, this Klagenfurt is the sixth largest city in Austria. It boasts hot long summers and snow-capped winters, meaning that it is the ultimate dual season getaway.
Also known as the ‘Austrian Riveria’ this area is brimming with beautiful lakes and mountains. Twenty minutes away from the charms of the city, Lake Wörthersee’s emerald waters are ideal for swimming in the summer, and ice skating on in the winter.
Just 30 minutes from Klagenfurt airport, Annenheim is famous as one of the prettiest traditional villages in Austria. Nestled in the Nockberge Mountains, its cobbled streets are lined with chocolate-box architecture and charming local restaurants.
This idyllic village sits on the westerly banks of Lake Ossiacher. Here you can find an array of water-sports and plenty of areas to top up your tan in the soaring 28 degree temperatures.
With access to over 100km of groomed pitses, Bad Kleinkirchheim is the ultimate skiers paradise. Just a 55 minute drive from Klagenfurt airport, this resort offers World Cup pistes and is the favourite skiing destination of downhill Olympic gold medal winner Franz Klammer. Away from the slopes, Bad Kleinkirchheim’s spa dates back to the 11th century and has been internationally known for its healing qualities and sweet Alpine scent ever since.
