Nestled at the heart of the Amadé ski region – the largest ski region in Europe – the resort offers a great range of sports for visitors including over 150km of cross country skiing. Radstadt also offers plenty in the way of culture and history with a medieval castle and 14th century church. Locally it is known as the “Jewel of the valley”.

Radstadt is just 40 minutes’ drive from Salzburg airport, 90 minutes from Klagenfurt airport and 2 hours 10 minutes from Munich.

Ski Scene:

Our ski property for sale in Radstadt is surrounded by winter activities in abundance! Radstadt offers over 17km of well-prepared pistes for all ages and is particularly good for beginners to intermediates. There are also free shuttle buses running to Flachau and Zauchansee that connects you to the vast network of slopes in the entire Ski Amadé region. This enormous ski region consists of 860km of perfectly groomed pistes. Great pride is taken in providing optimum conditions for visitors with 80% of the piste being maintained by snow cannons and a 250-strong team working each night . They use 125 of the most modern snowcats to keep the slopes superbly groomed.

The Ski Amadé region is also excellent for snowboarders with a large choice of funparks to complement the many pistes. There are plenty of half-pipes, kickers, projumps, funboxes and obstacles! Radstadt also has 160km of cross-country trails tracked both for classic and skating technique and suitable for all levels of difficulty.

Especially designed for children and a short bus ride from Radstadt is Fageralm. This is a cleverly designed themed children’s ski area offering animals from the Fager Forest, an Indian trail with original Indian tepee, a Viking route, wave slide and boarder cross all of which provide exciting practice terrain. Other winter activities available include ice skating on Radstadt’s natural ice rink, winter hiking, ice-curling, horse back riding and sleigh rides.

For tobogganing fans it is also home to the Kemahdhöhe sledding hill. This 6km long floodlit hill is the longest in the region and the only one where you get “hoisted” up to the top before speeding down. Nearby Schladming also benefits from 110km of pistes on the doorstep plus 90 ski lifts and is home to varied pistes plus many ski lifts and cosy ski huts to enjoy. There is also glacier skiing available on the nearby Dachstein glacier plus modern snowmaking equipment ensuring good skiing conditions. The town lies amongst the beautiful Dachstein mountains and here you can enjoy everything from pretty tree-lined pistes to glacier skiing and the challenging downhill run used for the annual Alpine Ski World Cup night slalom!

Another fun activity is the 7km long Hochwurzen Toboggan run and nearby Planai has the longest downhill mountain bike track in Austria, which is very challenging. There is also a family track which is suitable for children.

For a more relaxing pastime you might want to try a round of golf on Radstadt’s fantastic 18-hole course. Boasting a 9-hole practise course as well as two driving ranges and a practice putting course, Radstadt golf course is the only golf course in the world with its own cable car which you need to take after tee 11. Just 20 minutes from Radstadt is the 18-hole Dachstein-Tauern golf course and country club. This fantastic Par-71 course was designed by Bernhard Langer and offers a true challenge for any golfer.
