Less than 10 minutes away is the exclusive town of Kitzbühel which is a hugely popular year round destination. The centre of Kitzbühel is fortified with medieval buildings. The outskirts have been extended in more recent years to provide a sophisticated selection of modern shops selling luxury items and fine restaurants – visiting this town is an absolute must!
Kirchberg is readily accessible as it is just 70 minutes from both Salzburg and Innsbruck airports and 1 hour 50 minutes from Munich airport. The Kirchberg area is perfect for cross country skiing too, thanks to the surrounding 500km network of powdery cross country trails.
The legendary Hahnenkamm mountain lies between the towns of Kirchberg and Kitzbühel and is home to the world famous Hahnenkamm downhill race. This spectacular event takes place every January and is known as the toughest race of the World Cup circuit.
The Kitzbühel ski region has over 50 modern ski lifts and 100% snow cannon coverage to ensure great skiing. There are over 50 mountain restaurants and bars for you to choose from when on the pistes. Relax with a cool drink on the sunny terraces and enjoy the great Austrian hospitality and even greater views.
Away from the slopes, non-skiers will not be disappointed. There is ice skating, curling and sleigh rides in addition to plenty of alternative winter sports. The Mercedes-Benz sports park in Kitzbühel is open year round and has 10 tennis courts, a 17m climbing wall, 100m2 bouldering wall, ice skating, curling and skittles. The venue also hosts numerous concerts and cultural events throughout the year which are well worth a visit.
Located only five minutes from the expansive SkiWelt Wilder-Kaiser ski region, our ski property for sale in Kirchberg has access to 279km of superb pistes. This is Austria’s largest interconnected ski area and here you will find a fantastic range of family friendly slopes including 124km of blue runs, 128km of red runs and 11km of black runs. The Wilder-Kaiser area has 180km of classic cross-country skiing and skating courses plus 13km of floodlit slopes for night skiing and floodlit toboggan runs. For an adrenaline rush, you can even try snow tubing and husky sledding!
The Wilder Kaiser region has a further 70 Alpine huts dotted across the mountainside offering traditional table service and warm hearty food. This impressive, vibrant ski area really is a winter wonderland for skiers and non-skiers alike.
Kirchberg makes a fantastic summer destination thanks to its warm temperatures, numerous scenic lakes and wide range of hiking and cycling trails in the surrounding mountains.
The region has 88km of Nordic walking and hiking trails and mountain bikers are well catered for with over 800km of perfectly maintained bike paths to explore. If you don’t fancy cycling uphill you can put your bike on one of the many ski lifts which are open throughout summer. These can whisk you to the tree tops in minutes where you can freewheel down, stopping at the picture perfect mountain huts along the way.
If you are feeling adventurous you could always try rock climbing, canyoning down gorges and waterfalls or experience the full beauty of the mountains by paragliding over the Alpine landscape.
If you are a keen golfer then you will probably already know that the Kitzbühel region has the best golfing in Austria. There are four local courses and a further 19 within an hour’s drive. The four closest clubs are: Kitzbühel, Eichenheim, Rasmushof and Schwarzsee.
The Kitzbühel club is the most traditional course in the area and is renowned for its golfing prowess. Situated on Kitzbühel’s sunnier slopes and surrounded by mountains, the resort, clubhouse, ponds with two island greens and the old castle walls have become a part of the PGA quality experience. It’s impressive central location and successful heritage have made it one of the best known clubs in Austria.
