The beautiful resort of Filzmoos is a small village in the province of Salzburg situated in the St. Johann im Pongau region. Filzmoos is a peaceful village, which is well-known for skiing in winter and hiking in summer.
The village is located between the Rossbrand and Grossberg mountains attracting visitors throughout the year, and offering amazing skiing and cross-country skiing during winter months. Filzmoos is nestled at the heart of the Amadé ski region – the largest ski region in Europe. This enormous ski region consists of 860km of perfectly groomed pistes serviced by 270 modern lifts
which all conveniently run under a single lift pass. Over 200km of marked trails in the middle of the well-known “Bischofsmuetze” attract numerous nature lovers in summer.
This village is perfectly suited to people looking for relaxation and peace. The commune and quiet atmosphere make Filzmoos a very family and child friendly destination.
Although Filzmoos is a small ski resort, which offers 13km of skiing, it is located in the heart of the Amade Ski region which offers 860km of perfectly groomed pistes. Filzmoos has a total of 6km of blue pistes, 6km of red pistes and 1km of black pistes. There is also crosscountry skiing. The Amade Ski Region is perfect for all levels of skiers.
Filzmoos also offers various ski and snow independent activities. Curling, sleigh trip and winter hiking trails are well-known activities in the area for non-skiers. There are also two floodlit toboggan runs including one for younger children ensuring everyone can join in the fun.
There are about 45km of cross-country skiing the area through snow-covered trees and beautiful scenery. At an altitude of 1300m to 1600m you can be sure of great snow conditions as well as a long skiing season.
Filzmoos makes a fantastic summer destination thanks to its warm temperatures and scenic lakes. Besides a wide range of hiking and cycling trails across the village, there are also general sport activities such as tennis, football, a skateboard park and mini golf.
Furthermore, there is the opportunity to explore various lakes such as the Erlebnisbadesee in Eben im Pongau, the Boendlsee or Goldegger Moorsee.
A climbing park, rafting and paragliding are all on-hand to make your visits even more unique. In Filzmoos it is also the possibile to rent a bicycle or mountain bike, and hiking or mountain sports equipment.
The resort also boasts of four fantastic golf courses. The Golf and Countryclub Dachstein Tauern, Golf Club Radstadt, Golf Club St. Johann-Alpendorf and Golfclub Ausseerland are less than 30km away and comprise 9 to 27 golf holes.
