Fieberbrunn is a traditional market town situated in the Pillersee valley in Austria’s Tyrol province. Dating back to the middle ages, this old mining town is packed full of character and boasts numerous shops and restaurants, a historic church as well as an impressive snow record.
Fieberbrunn was catapulted into the limelight when it linked to the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang in 2015. It is now a gateway to 270km of pistes and one of the most modern, lift-linked ski areas in Europe.
Fieberbrunn’s local ski area is located on the mountain range between Kitzbühel and Saalbach and offers a great cross-section of slopes for beginners to experts. Top-to-bottom skiing is possible from late November and lasting well into April.
The Skicircus Saalbach-Hinterglemm-Fieberbrunn was connected in 2016 to form the largest interconnected ski area in Austria. It now offers an impressive 270km of pistes. The project, TirolS, has created one of the most varied ski regions with 140km of blue runs, 112km of red runs and 18km of black runs at altitudes over 2,000m.
The second phase will link this area with neighbouring Zell am See and Kaprun. These traditional villages are less than 30 minutes away and have a further 130km of pistes and year-round glacier skiing. Once the second phase is complete, it will see a combined area of 380km of linked pistes – the 3rd largest in the world. The Fieberbrunn lift company has invested around €20m and it is sure to catapult the entire region in terms of growth and value.

Fieberbrunn offers a great range of fun activities amongst beautiful mountain surroundings in the Summer too. The stunning peaks provide plenty of adventurous things to do, like a high rope course, vie ferrate, and 400km of walking and cycling paths.
On top of this, the town’s funicular can whisk you up to the top of the mountains, to explore the high-altitude path trek, as well as other great activities. In between wild and romantic hiking paths, exciting mountain bike routes, and mountain panoramas are some of the Tyrol’s most beautiful mountain lakes.
As well as all the fun to be had on the mountains in the summertime, Fieberbrunn is also surrounded by 8 golf courses – all within 25 km of the town.
